What It Actually Takes to Pull Off a Hudson Valley Wedding On A Private Estate
A Hudson Valley summer wedding has its own kind of ease: long light, open fields, and guests who've left the city behind for the weekend. This one I remember in detail, from the flowers that gave the space its shape to the sound of the party carrying across the grounds well into the evening.The Set Up - Watch Video
It was also one of the hottest days of the season. Keeping the team (and myself) upright was part of the job. We were on site from Thursday through Sunday, building the design piece by piece and then taking it all down once the last guest had gone.
We worked alongside a group of vendors and creatives I'd gladly work with again, and the result was better for every one of them.
What set this wedding apart was where it happened. The bride grew up on these grounds, so the day unfolded among places she'd known all her life. That gave everything a warmth no design could create on its own.
